Elizabeth Raskin obtained her undergraduate degree from Emory University in 2001. She obtained her law degree from New York University School of Law in 2004. While in law school, she served as Executive Editor of the Moot Court Board and worked in New York University School of Law's Family Defense Clinic. Here, she provided legal assistance to parents involved in custody disputes and helped clients achieve positive outcomes. She also volunteered tutoring children at schools throughout New York City.
Elizabeth began her legal career with a large law firm in New York City, where she practiced commercial litigation. Once Elizabeth moved to Atlanta, she focused her career on her passion: helping families going through challenging times. She worked at Atlanta Legal Aid, representing clients in all aspects of domestic relations issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, legitimation, and adoption. She also volunteered at Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation where she represented children as a Guardian Ad Litem. Her job was to determine the best interests of the child and advocate for those interests in court.
Since entering private practice, Elizabeth has successfully represented clients in divorce actions, custody disputes, child support modifications, and family violence actions. She recognizes that each client has different goals and concerns, and focuses her representation to meet her client's individual goals and address their concerns. Although she strongly believes in resolving family law matters through a collaborative approach, she fiercely advocates for her client's best interests inside and outside the courtroom.
In 2019, Elizabeth was selected to the Super Lawyers' Rising Stars list. The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state.
She currently volunteers with Legal Aid helping victims of domestic violence obtain protective orders from their abusers.
On a personal level, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Misha, in Piedmont Park and practicing yoga.

"Elizabeth Raskin and her team are amazing! They provided me with solid information on how to handle my childrens' father taking me to court with the attempt to prove me unfit. They always followed up, checked in, and returned calls and emails promptly. They are genuine with their concerns and questions. I could not have asked for a more caring group of people! Not just for my benefit, to quell my fears, but the well-bring of my children were top priority! We never got to meet in person as I moved out of state but, my case was still within Georgia's jurisdiction. Simply amazing experience, given the circumstance. I highly recommend anyone looking for a loyal and honest team to contact Elizabeth Raskin and her team!" Posted by Jeannie
